The growth factor is a peptide with multiple biological functions. Growth factors not only bind specifically to receptors on cell membranes but also have a high affinity for the bound receptors. The uncontrolled expression of growth factors and growth factor receptors plays an important role in promoting brain tumorigenesis and development. For example, overexpression of colony-stimulating factor (CSF) and epidermal growth factor (EGF) can lead to uncontrolled proliferation, malignant transformation of certain cells, and eventual transformation into tumor cells. Meanwhile, brain tumor cells can spontaneously secrete immunosuppressive cytokines, thus the immune escape phenomenon of the tumor occurs.
Alfa Cytology combines enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), microsphere technology, and flow cytometry to provide a high throughput assay for multiple growth factors in a small number of samples simultaneously. Compared to traditional ELISA techniques, which can only detect one indicator, microsphere-based multiplex assays can detect multiple indicators from a single specimen at the same time. It saves samples and improves the efficiency of your research.
Alfa Cytology can both measure growth factor concentrations in peripheral blood and amplify the stimulatory effect of brain tumor drugs on immune cells by stimulating cells to secrete growth factors through in vitro culture, thereby predicting the potential risk that a drug may cause growth factor release syndrome. This can help you determine the minimum expected biological effect level and select a reasonable safe starting dose. Please feel free to contact us to discuss project details.
