Glioblastoma (GBM) is a rapidly growing and aggressive tumor and is the most common malignant brain tumor in adults. Unlike other tumors, GBM can invade the surrounding brain tissue extensively with little metastasis. At present, the molecular mechanisms underlying the occurrence of GBM are still not well understood. Therefore, an in-depth study of the molecular mechanisms underlying the malignant growth and invasion of brain tumors such as GBM is important for the development of new therapies and drugs, as well as for improving the survival prognosis of brain tumor patients.

In the process of brain tumor development and progression, changes such as upregulation/downregulation of gene expression play a very important role in promoting brain tumors and so on. Transcription factor analysis of target genes To detect whether there is a transcriptional regulatory relationship between transcription factors and target genes by analyzing the sequence characteristics of transcription factor binding and the promoter sequence characteristics of target genes.
Single-cell sequencing analysis Provides detailed cell type annotation at the single cell level, enabling exploration of the tumor microenvironment of different brain tumor types.
Protein interaction network analysis Obtain proteins that interact with target genes and select the KEGG pathway to export the signaling pathways they are involved in.
Genetic linkage and localization analysis Based on the exchange and recombination of chromosomes in chain genetics, the exchange values are calculated by methods such as multiple consecutive two- or three-point tests. To determine the distance of relative positions of genes located on the same chromosome, a chain genetic map is drawn.
Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) typing We offer a flight mass spectrometry-based typing technique for multiple SNP typing, where multiple SNP loci can be typed simultaneously in a single reaction.
Methylation site detection We offer bisulfite sequencing PCR (BSP), combined bisulfite restriction analysis (COBRA), methylation-specific PCR (MS-PCR), NGS methylation sequencing assay, high-resolution melting (HRM) curve method, and pyrophosphate sequencing method for methylation analysis of target genes in brain tumors.

We focused on the key brain tumor-associated gene

  • ZEB1 gene. This gene regulates brain tumor growth, and brain tumor patients without this gene tend to have a lower survival rate.
  • Oncogenic gene Runt-related transcription factor 1 (RUNX1). It has an important regulatory role in cell proliferation, cell differentiation, and hematopoietic cell formation.
  • CFI gene. This gene is expressed in tumor cells, infiltrating immune cells and fibroblasts, and its high expression correlates significantly with the size and pathological grade of the tumor.

Chemotherapy is ineffective in some brain tumor patients with gene deletions, so researchers must treat them with different drugs. Alfa Cytology can provide new information about certain brain tumor-specific genes through analysis. This can help our clients analyze genetic changes in brain tumor patients, enabling them to provide more accurate prognoses and treatment plans.
