| Background | Integrin alpha-1/beta-1 is a receptor that binds to both laminin and collagen. It plays a crucial role in supporting vascular endothelial growth factor signaling, facilitating endothelial cell migration, and promoting tumor angiogenesis. Specifically, it recognizes a collagen sequence that is proline-hydroxylated: G-F-P-G-E-R. Additionally, this integrin is involved in the regulation of cell growth stimulated by epidermal growth factor (EGF) in an anchorage-dependent manner, exerting a negative effect. |
